Reader Poll: How Do You Blog?
by Matt on Oct 15, 2008 in Blogging
Hi Hyperlocal Blogger readers,
I’m curious to know: How do you blog?
More often than not, I use a text editor to write my blog posts and then cut and paste it into WordPress for publishing.
Do you use Microsoft Word to write your blog posts? Do you go straight to your WordPress “new post” screen and start writing? (or whatever blogging platform you’re on)
Just curious,
Matt

straight to wordpress and start writing unless its an article that needs to be revised and checked by co-workers. In case of revisioning i’m using Word.
Always use MS-Word. Much easier to write long posts, word count feature, consistent file storage, and employees and customers all submit work in this format.
I use the built-in Blogger editor. My posts don’t tend to be long and involved, so it works for me. I also like that I can switch between the WYSIWYG and HTML editors.
I write my blog posts in Word so that I have a hard copy for myself locally. Then I will move it over to Wordpress.
Call me crazy, but I have written them from my phone, from WORD, from gmail, from our blog platform. Maybe I have a “focus” problem?

So I’m the only one who uses a text editor? Very interesting. I knew Word was in use, but I didn’t think 3 out of 5 responses would mention it. Thanks, gang.
I typically either start right in WordPress or in Notepad. Pasting in from Word is more trouble than it’s worth. I’ve also blogged using the WordPress app for iPhone, but just for quick posts.
I’ve been using MarsEdit on my mac for a few months, mainly for simple formatting.
For posts that need a bit more layout I tend to go straight to WordPress.
