Hey Liz – I’ve been thinking about doing something like that, but I worry about all the junk and noise that a raw Twitter feed must have. Not to mention things like foul language, Twitpics that may not be appropriate, etc.

Do you have any problems with that? Do you keep a close eye on the feed?

I set up a list on Twitter called Stapleton neighbors (our ‘hood in Denver) and feed all of their tweets onto my hyperlocal blog… but I didn’t know of any of these tools to find them — thanks!

Hey awesome post. I also found something similar to nearbytweets and ChirpCity. It collects tweets for any city in the US. It’s kind of hard to find, but you go to http://www.townme.com/city-state/twitter
i.e. http://www.townme.com/san-francisco-ca/twitter
or… http://www.townme.com/seattle-wa/twitter
They also have local twitter directories for some of the bigger cities.
